Where else can a party of four order fried eggs, pork tips, fried shrimp, and a gyro? The service is friendly and quick. The food is properly prepared and served hot. My parents visit here often and are rarely disappointed. Bottom line, big portions, small prices.

This place smelled like dog food and the hash browns and toast had a funny taste to it. It kind of tastes like dog food as well. Def do not recommend it at all. The service was fast but the food was awful!

Perfect when you're looking for diner food. I'm a gyro fan, so I go for the gyro wrap or plate. Hot food, friendly service, close to home.
(4)Kyle G.
Good service but only average food. I would feel better if they had bigger portions or lowered their prices.

Great restaurant with many options. Great for breakfast. My selection is the cranberry pecan salad! They also have wonderful homemade soup

Used to be a regular here when it was Blue Bay. I usually hit up this place for breakfast during a weekday. Service is always polite. Food comes out fast and tasty. If I still lived in the area I would totally be a regular.

Mrs. V's, used to be known as Blue Bay, is definitely one of the better restaurants in town for breakfast and lunch. Dinner? I am not sure, I never tried them for dinner but when I am out early for Sunday breakfast, I always find myself sipping on fresh coffee and reading the newspaper at Mrs. V's. It's very nice inside, although it's a bit out of style, it's nice because it takes you back to the old days, not too long ago though! It's pretty big inside so there usually is never a wait which is great and the service is awesome. The waiters are usually always friendly and welcoming and they serve you quickly and appropriately. The noise level could get loud depending on the time of day you go. If you go on a Saturday morning at, say 10 AM, it's probably going to be more packed as it would on a Wednesday afternoon at, say 2 PM. So, if you have young'ens that are sensitive to noise levels, make sure you're careful when you come here. The food is always fresh, piping hot and you're always served quickly. Not only that but the prices are excellent! I always have the Meat Lover's Skillet in the morning or the Biscuits and Gravy. Delicious and the best in town, well, to my knowledge. Wanna know what else puts these guys on top? The owner/manager is always there welcoming their customers, cashing out their checks for them, giving free lollipops to the children and they are always very jolly and friendly. That is always a plus. You don't see that often.. an owner and management at the front register welcoming and talking to their customers. I haven't felt more welcomed and appreciated in a restaurant before until now. I highly recommend you stop in and try this restaurant. They never let me down (and believe me, I am tough on my reviews, I am not easy to please) and I am sure they won't let you down. The prices are great, the food is fresh and delicious, great for the kids and the service is out of this world. It's how Yelp.com always says it, "Woohoo! It's as good as it gets!"

This is my favorite local place for breakfast. Lunch food is excellent as well, but I am a breakfast junkie. I love the hash browns. This place is always packed with people. The owners are at the front desk all day long, greeting people and showing them to their seat. The wait staff is always quick and usually friendly. If it's SUPER busy, the waitresses usually get sassy, but that kind of makes it more fun. Mrs. V's is an all-around good place. I highly recommend it.

I'm starting to become a regular at this place for it seems each time I go, the place grows on me. I've tried several items on the menu, ranging from the sandwiches, burgers and pasta. I will say, the pasta was a bit of a flop, but outside of this myself and my family have been enjoying the other items on the menu. The desserts here are good too. The menu is the typical rage of food which you would see on a Denny's menu or any other, local, ma & pa type of family restaurant. The service so far has been really good and they are extremely friendly. They love kids and always ensure your meal is okay. The prices and value are very much in line. I find this is a good place to bring the family where you can have an inexpensive meal and have a nice conversations without a lot of distractions.

A friend lives in RLB and introduced me to Mrs. V's. Wow, am I a fan. Yes, it is like the typical Greek-owned family diners that you grew up with. Yes, they have a pretty extensive menu that makes me wonder how they can make everything consistently tasty and taste fresh. Yes, they have a spinning glass pie case that makes me chuckle for some reason. I love diners, though, and the food I've had at Mrs. V's has been consistently yummy and flavorful. Portions are ample - be prepared to either have a food coma or take home leftovers! For breakfast, check out their specials - the skillets are the best I've had anywhere and definitely has the biggest portions too. For lunch, the Greek chicken wrap is delish! It had the right amount of tzatziki sauce, and the chicken was tender (not dry like I've had elsewhere). The food has always been hot and melty, and I love the double-fried fries. Mmmm, heart attack waiting to happen! Staff is friendly, and I've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seated, even on a Sunday morning. It's definitely worth checking out if you hold a special place in your heart for Greek-owned diners like I do.

I like Mrs. V's It is pretty much the same as "Blue Bay" (old name). But new look and owners. I highly enjoy it now that there is non smoking. I usually only eat breakfast, soup, or sammiches ;) The one time that I ventured out of those categories, I ended up with a LONG, thick string in my mashed potatoes. Which the owner apologized and comped my meal. It was a understandable mistake. Turns out it was a piece of a rag they use to wipe the mixing bowls. I usually always order the "Country Skillet". Which is hashbrowns, green peppers, onions, country sausage, cheese, eggs and a choice of toast. Yummy...Now I want one.

Pretty much standard Denny's style diner. Burgers are decent but they ask to cook to order but don't fulfill. Our 'medium' burger was VERY well done. Lots of frozen items used in the cooking. Wasn't impressed.

The staff was incredibly nice, had a typical "diner" feel, but the food was simple and unimpressive. I feel like the color scheme for the restaurant and menus was a bit depressing--and yes, things like that are important. I got a wrap and fries, my husband got a sandwich and soup. None of it was bad, but it was't very interesting or memorable. Might try it again for breakfast sometime.

Have been here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The dinner was very good and everyone was very happy with their plate. The breakfast wasn't bad either nothing special. The prices are fair and food is pretty good for what was ordered.

This was my first time there, I grew up on Blue Bay & Golden Bear (the previous names), I just haven't made it in all these years since the "name change" I am a HUGE fan of breakfast food, and have fond memories of this restaurant from way back in the day, so my family and I ventured in. It was PACKED, but we were seated quickly. None of the staff seemed happy, yes it is a Saturday morning, but pretend you are happy to see customers (I am a restaurant manager myself, so I know how it feels, at least try and fake a smile) Our waitress was efficient, and not at all friendly. I was with 2 senior citizens, so things are a little slower pace, and I felt rushed and unwanted. Our food came quickly, but nothing exciting. We ordered the Texas skillet, crepes, and the Gyro Skillet. The coffee was cold, the iced tea had a strange off-taste (powdery almost, like it was a mix that wasn't stirred thoroughly). Everything was just ok, the skillets were underseasoned and the flavors of the gyro skillet did not blend well (I ended up eating everything seperately) The crepes, well I can make better myself, so hardly worth going out to buy. The texas skillet is the only one that was "good" but still, nothing spectacular. The portions are smaller than Emily's (one of my fave brunch spots) but the price is about the same. If I am going to spend the same amount of cash, I would prefer to have the larger portions, hence, leftovers! So I won't be back for breakfast anytime soon, but I will probably go back to try the dinner menu (you know, for old-time-sake) If dinner rocks, I will update...

It is your average Greek style restaurant. Nothing mind blowing and nothing disappointing.

Every town has a good diner and this is it for RLB. We eat here on average twice a week. Great breakfast. Everything else is typical good diner food. My standby is the turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes. F'n yum. My significant other gets nothing but the Mexican skillet. Yum. The staff here is great, too. My only complaint is that they're not open later than 10. It sucks when we have to go to Dino's.

My family and I have been going to Mrs. V's since it was Blue Bay. We loved the resturaunt. until our recent visit. The service was great as usual. The reason for ok rating was because of the price. We have two children 11 and 5. We ordered three skillet meals and a kids meal. My husband ordered a diet pop, my kids had hot chocolate and I coffee. The price our our meal was $40 (not including a tip). I expect this for dinner, but not for breakfast. $10/person (one with a child's meal), is absurd. We will not be going back for a while because spending that kind of money on breakfast (eggs, veggies for me, sausage for the other two, hash-browns and toast) is an insane price. I know prices have gone up, but not at more than $10 per person for the big people meals for BREAKFAST!! The kids meal was equally pricey for ONE large pancake shaped like mickey mouse (that it is ALL-no meat, toast). The food tasted good, but it was not gourmet by any means. Disappointed in our local place.

The food is good. The ambiance is what you would expect. Our waitress was awesome. This place seems to care about their customers. We will be back!

It's disappointing that this is one of the only independent sit-down restaurants in RLB. Breakfast is okay. Decent hashbrowns. Friendly staff. I think my main problem with Mrs. V's is that they have the usual Greek diner menu with way too many options and I don't know if they do any of them well. Everything I've ever ordered from there has been bland and carelessly made. I know not to get "Mexican" and "Italian" food at a Greek diner, but even the Greek food here is subpar. I had "Greek" chicken that was literally plain, unseasoned chicked cooked until done on a flatop grill and then a "lemon butter oregano" sauce was poured over it. The vegetables were out of can, unsalted and unbuttered. The rice pilaf seemed to be overcooked white rice with "seasoning" stirred in. If I were coaching the owner, I'd pare down the menu a little bit and put more care into the food. BUT...maybe this place just isn't for me. Maybe the blander food is exactly what the older clientele wants.

By far the best restaurant in the area. I've been a regular here since moving to Illinois over 2 years ago. I measure a family restaurant by how good their biscuits and gravy is and this place is #2 of my all-time favorites. Great sausage, generous gravy, and good biscuits. For dinner I always get the open-face turkey with extra gravy. Anyone looking for a good wholesome American meal, this is the place!

Great food, great atmosphere. Love the people :)

This is your classic Greek diner. We laugh as I swear these menu's are all the same! LOL. That said, decent food. Nothing earth shattering, but good. Certainly better then going to Denny's or something similar. The service was great too! I love the vibe it has of that local joint, too.

It's what a pancake house family restaurant should be. Good staff, lots of choices and food is good. Can't complain owners treat you good and staff thanks you. No problem spending my money here!

Love coming to Mrs V's ! We try to come here on Sundays for breakfast. The line may seem long but they get people seated very quickly. The food is made to order and is always delicious. The waffle a la mode (waffle with ice cream) is my personal favorite. Top that with whip cream and you have breakfast and dessert all in one! The biscuits and gravy are amazing too!

My fiancé and I moved into town just a little while ago and tried this place because it was told that it had really good all around good and it was not just breakfast foods. I have to say we were kind of disappointed because we ordered chicken fingers, the stuffed avocado with chicken salad, Julian salad and got two cups of soup. Now the server and the owner or manager both said their blue berry pie was to die for so we ordered on each. Let me say this one thing.... It was disgusting! The blue berries were like a think jelly/jello like consistency full of sugar! The cheese cake of self was very bland and left a strange texture and taste in your mouth. Their stuffed avocado player was very yummy and fresh, great balance of everything. One down side I would say was the chicken salad was very dry and bland. Needed some spicing up or salt. The Julian salad was very good but the quality of the sliced ham, turkey were poor and very fatty. The chicken fingers are our always safe fail plan of nothing else is good, and they were good but the breeding was strange and had an odd taste to them. I don't know how to explain it. But the soups here are always yummy and I love myself a cream of chicken and rice! Theirs was awesome, not to much salt and just enough chicken to rice to the cream base soup! We have to say we enjoyed it but we have to come back for breakfast and see how it is.

Your classic breakfast all day long diner, it's warm and friendly, lots of wood finishing with a fetish for rooster statues ;) I believe it is greek owned because I can order saganaki, one of my faves. My husband had a skillet and loved it, I tried the Eggs Benedict and sadly was not a fan. The ham was very thin and did not care for the muffin they used. I did like the hollandaise sauce. My husband loved it and I will go back to try something else. The pancakes were nice and fluffy.
